Khan Bahadur Sardar Bakhshi Wali Mohammed Khan (1848 - 1940), Nabha State

Khan Bahadur Sardar Bakhshi Wali Mohd. Khan (1848-1940); Commander-in-Chief (Bakhshi) of the Forces of Nabha State; ADC to His Highness Raja Sir Hira Singh Malvinder Bahadur, Nabha State (1871-1911); Khan Bahadur, 1894; Cabinet Minister during the visit of Lord Curzon, Viceroy (1903); Judicial Minister attending the Delhi Coronation Durbar (1903); Foreign Minister, Nabha State (1905-1912); Assistant to His Highness Maharaja Ripudaman Singh Malvinder Bahadur, Nabha State (1911).

 

Khan Bahadur Sardar Bakhshi Wali Mohammed Khan belonged to the famous Bakhshi family of Nabha State. The family had rendered service as generals, ministers, and doctors of this princely kingdom. Wali Mohammed Khan's ancestors include Bakhshi Sardar Badroodin Khan (father), Bakhshi Sardar Noor Khan (grandfather), and Bakhshi Sardar Gulam Rasool Khan (great grandfather). Wali Mohammed Khan's father Bakhshi Sardar Badroodin Khan, Commander-in-Chief of Nabha State Forces, served in the Afghan War of 1878-1880, as reviewed by Lord Lytton, the Viceroy of India, at Lahore in 1878. Col. Mohammed Ali, Chief of Forces of Kapurthala State, and father of Colonel Ali Altaf Khan of Kapurthala. also served in the Afghan War at Bannu frontier. Wali Mohammed Khan attended the Delhi Coronation Darbar of 1903. He was the Judicial Minister of the State and member of the Council of Ministers.
